Tyrus Morgan’s new record

The past few months have been busy at the studio.  A few weeks ago, we spent some time tracking bass and drums for singer/songwriter Tyrus Morgan’s new solo record.  Besides being a good friend, Ty is a talented producer and great songwriter.  We had a lot of fun working on these tracks.  Check out the video below for a sneak peek of one of the songs and some good footage of the studio!  Also, stop by Tyrus’ website for updates on the record.

New Space

We’re still here and still making music. Though now we’re making it in a much better space. In November we started moving the studio about 5 minutes from our old location to our current spot. It took a couple of months to repaint, add lights, and re-wire. At the beginning of this year we tracked our first project in the new space. After two months the space has proven to be a much better atmosphere to create in and has provided a more comfortable place for clients to work with us. We’re excited at the potential of the new place as we continue to work and collaborate with new artists and writers. So come check out the new studio! In the meantime enjoy a few photos.

Demos and new Getty song

Things have been busy the past few months here at ENR studios.  We’ve been producing demos for a wide range of writers and artists.  Keep an eye on our music page for samples of some of our recent work.  In the meantime, check out this video of us playing Keith and Kristyn Getty’s new hymn “Come People of the Risen King”. This is a great call-to-worship song, and features some inspiring playing from Dave Cleveland on guitar:

Newest Additions

We’re proud to announce two new members of the ENR studio gear treasure chest.  We’ve added a Mackie Big Knob controller, for easier workflow in the control room, and an AKG 414 large diaphragm condenser mic.  The mic has already been great for perc overdubs and as a mono kit or room mic.  Check out our updated gear list on our studio page.

By Faith

We’ve been a little absent from the blog/web-o-sphere recently, but we’ve had an exciting summer.  The newly-renovated studio is up and running, and we’re looking forward to a few projects in the fall.  In the meantime, here’s another video of us playing with Keith & Kristyn Getty.  This song is titled “By Faith”, and you can click here to check out Keith’s explanation of the inspiration behind the song.

This Week

We’re back in our new and improved studio this week.  It’s great to be working with a good friend and fabulous singer/songwriter, Nathan Tasker.  We hope to post some pics of the recording process with Nate and the new studio very soon.  In the meantime, here are some pics from the gig the other weekend with Matt Jenkins.  It was an incredibly hot day, but we had a blast playing some country music!

We’ll be backing up Country artist and songwriter Matt Jenkins next Saturday, August 12 as part of the 2010 CMA Festival in Nashville.  We’ll be playing a short set at 2pm on the stage in front of Hard Rock Cafe on lower Broadway.  Come check it out!

O Church Arise

Here’s a video from a show we did with Keith & Kristyn Getty this spring at Shadow Mountain Church in California.  The Getty tour is taking a break for a few months while Keith and Kristyn focus on writing some new material.  In the meantime, enjoy this great hymn for the church:

Cymbals and Sticks

Besides being busy over the last few months with the studio and gigs, we’ve also been talking to companies about endorsements.  In our minds, endorsements are an opportunity to develop a relationship with a few companies which make instruments and gear that we use and love, and to have those companies be a part of our growing musical careers.  On that note, Dustin has signed on with Paiste Cymbals and Innovative Percussion Sticks!  Thanks to Ed and Wayne at Paiste and Henry and Nick at Innovative.  Here are a few pics of the new and much-improved setup from the road:

Happy New Year!

The new year has brought some exciting upgrades for us. This past week the ENR studio has been undergoing a facelift as we have been preparing for some much anticipated outboard gear to arrive. We’ve been hard at work sourcing parts, soldering and sanding some of the necessary components for all of the gear. As part of the upgrade we have designed and assembled two 6u wood racks that will accompany the original rack and house all the new gear. Peter also made his first attempt at soldering a D-sub fanout for the Rosetta 800 that is on its way.  The end result is nicer and more flexible for the specific space we have in the studio. All cables have neutrik connectors and are covered with techflex and the racks are ¾” birch plywood with a dark walnut stain. We’ll soon have a “gear” page posted for a complete list of the new toys. Enjoy some pictures of the process so far:
